THE MINISTRY
INTRODUCTION
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Somali Federal government is mandated to provide policy direction and guidance on all labour administration and vocational training matters. The Ministry is also mandated to protect and develop the labour force to contribute to the socio-economic development of the Somalia Federal Government.
The ministry consists of eight specialized departments:

The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs envisions a society where all individuals have equitable access to employment opportunities, social security, and support services that enable them to thrive. It aims to foster a fair, inclusive, and sustainable labor market that contributes to social cohesion, economic development, harmonious and productive workforce in Somali.
The mission of the Ministry is to develop and implement policies and programs that promote fair labor practices, protect workers’ rights, and enhance social welfare. It seeks to ensure that employment and social policies address the needs of various demographic groups and contribute to overall social and economic well-being, also to support harmonious relations, social protection and skilled human resources in the country’s labor market.
