LEGAL AND LABOUR RELATIONS
INTRODUCTION
Legal and labour relation is one of the departments under the federal ministry of labour and social affairs responsible for the implementation of the Labour Laws; it has five sections namely:-

Developing and enforcing laws and regulations related to labour, worker rights, labor unions, and labor disputes.
- Providing legal advice and representation for government agencies and employees on labor-related matters.
- Negotiating and overseeing labor agreements between the government and public sector unions.
- Investigating and resolving labor complaints and unfair labor practices.
- Promoting positive labor-management relations.
MISSION
- Ensuring Legal Compliance.
- Protecting Employee Rights.
- Handling Disputes, between employees and employers.
- Drafting Policies and Contracts: Creating and maintaining legal documents such as employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
- Promoting a Positive Work Environment.
- Negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements.
GOALS
- Enforcement of the Trade Union Laws, including the registration and supervision of employees and employers organizations.
- Safeguarding of trade unionism freedoms, including the right to organize
- Maintain the relationship between employers and employees by defining their rights, duties and regulating their conducts
- Prepare and submit required Minister reports or forms related to labour relations matters, such as equal employment opportunity (EEO) forms, new hire forms, or minority compensation reports.
